Dragons. Monsters. A goddess. A hero. Eighteen years after the calamity, a new hero finds himself in a confusing situation where he must fight to keep humanity from being destroyed. Will Nowe find out the truth? Or will he just follow along like a good soldier?
This sequel's story follows the main character Nowe and his dragon friend Legna(not pact partner like Caim and Angelus in the first Drakengard). Nowe was raised by dragons, naturally. He became part of the Knights of the Seal to keep peace in the world and blindly follows all their orders. Soon, he meets a woman names Manah who "opens his eyes" to the truth of the "peace" that the Knights fight for.
The story is pretty simple, but confusing to follow. In the end, I wasn't so sure whether I did a good thing or a bad thing. Alot of what is said to be truth in this game, seems to be more speculation and points of view than absolute truth, which threw me off a bit. The story wasn't particularly predictable, but some of the moments in it weren't realistic, almost felt sculpted or thrown in as if the designers couldn't find a place to put a certain scene.
Also, Nowe's devotion to the Knights, his friends Eris, Manah, and Legna seem to switch at a moment's notice. I didn't feel attached to Nowe or his feelings at all, which is a big thing for me in an RPG.
This story, like in the first Drakengard, has a feeling of neverendingness (I don't know if that's a word, but I'm using it ;) ). I can see another Drakengard in the future, but no real ending to the story.
The graphics are pretty cool. Similar to samurai warriors with the characters being more detailed. The Full Motion Video (FMV) was pretty good. They were put in pretty appropriate places in the game to emphasize certain moments. The semi-video scenes where the characters just talked were kind of annoying after a while. They were important, I understand, but it would've been much appreciated if the characters on screen weren't as stiff as poles and walked around a bit like on the first Drakengard.
I liked it that the camera angles could be manually changed. Yeah!
The unique design of all the characters was my favorite part. Each character was different, but still had that same feel of the original Drakengard's world, which is important, since it is the same world. The dragon, Legna, was really awesome. I don't think he was any more impressive than Angelus, but he had his own flare.
The sounds were well done. The music was alot better than the first Drakengard, but had, like I've said before, the same feel. The voiceovers were good too, in the brittish accents of course. Although, Nowe's voice was almost overplayed. He wasn't as believable sometimes as he needed to be, and seemed to repeat alot of what he had already stated the second before. Perhaps I'm too hard on the voice actors, but if you want people to believe it, then make it believable instead of overdone and fake.

It's alright. The gameplay is pretty much the same as in the previous Drakengard. The battles in the air are a little more exciting than the battles on the ground, well, more challenging that is. The battles on the ground remind me of Samurai Warriors where you just have a tonne of people running at you waiting for you to kill them.
One of the best features of this game is the "buddy system", as I like to call it. You can use up to four different characters in your party, but only use one at a time. The best part of this is that you go into the battle menu and pick a weapon for a certain character, let's say Eris. You pick a spear and she "teleports" to the spot where Nowe was and has the certain weapon you picked. In the last Drakengard, you could use a partner in battle, but that person would decrease in hit
points (HP), so you really only had a minute or two with that person before he/she lost all of his/her HP. In Drakengard 2, you can use any character at any time without being penalized. Also, each of the characters has a different type of weapon with different combos, magic, and strengths, which helps you to want to use all the characters. This is the best improvement in the Drakengard series, from my point of view.

The next is Capture the Flag, which is exactly as it shows and if you are a gamer you would know.
Next off is Capture the Flag again...Except it's for Space Battles. Although it's only a capture the flag type, it's a bit harder to get to the flag, depending on what map you've taken. You'll get the hang of it pretty quick once you start playing.
Now for Assault, which is only for space battle. This is the game type for any gamer that just wants to DESTROY EVERYTHING, which I love too. What
you have to do is destroy the enemies ship or ships, by destoying all of there systems inside the ship and you can take your ship and destroy bridge, engines and so on. What can get any better then that, I wouldn't know.Another one of the types is Hunt, which you are a beast or the rebels and you play it out like conquest.
Now for the Story modes on the game. First is Rise of the Empire. On this type you learn a whole lot more about the clones. And if you already know about all of that, then you get to experience everything that they go through. This is the part of games I love to play because it's a lot of fun. And Rise of the Empire goes for a long ways. You could definitely spend a lot of hours on this part of the game.
The second type of story mode is Galactic Conquest. This is somewhat a story mode, but you just play it out, no learing or nothing.
The cool thing about this though, is that you can buy new types of troops and some cool items for the long trip. The other cool thing is that you kind of move around the galaxy to different worlds to defend them or attack to stop the Empire. Graphics
